And an announcement…
It is with a heavy heart and a relieved mind that I am announcing that I am closing my store. I know my own limits and, at this point in our family’s life, something’s got to give. This business has become that ‘something.’ I feel like I am not giving my kids as much as they deserve in a day. At the same time, my customer service is suffering.
When I began this business, I had no idea what it would become. I jumped in feet first and it’s been absolutely incredible to witness the growth of this business. If you’re reading this, you’re probably a parent, someone with children in your life or someone who knows me personally. So you probably know a lot of the things that were happening with our family concurrently. Just in case you don’t know the details, since I began to develop this business in May of 2008:
-My now 27 month old turned one(and two!)
-I got pregnant with our second little one
-We moved across the country
-We lived with my parents while house hunting
-My father had surgery for cancer and had a heart attack
-We purchased our first home, moved in and had a new baby a week later.
All of this amongst the normal daily rhythms of life. Whew!
It’s been a long year for our family, and I just know in my heart that right now that’s where my undivided attention needs to be to get us settled back into a bit of a norm. You have all been such unbelievable customers and you also do not deserve anything but the absolute best that I can offer in support, suggestions and information and I feel like I’m slowly losing my grip on being able to offer that at the level that you all so absoultely deserve.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank each and every one of you for the incredible customers that you have been. You’ve been gracious, understanding, humourous and just plain lovely on a regular basis. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions at all. I am sorry to hear your are closing shop, but understand your reasons. Family should always come first. Thank you so much for your help getting my stash started last January. Sorry to hear you are closing. My husband and I just moved back to PA and are settled enough to start cloth diapering our one month old. Your shop seemed to be the only one in the East PA. Do you know of any other CD shops in this half of the state? I also tried to use the LABORDAY coupon at check-out and it says it expired on 9/9/09. But your blog says Sept.11th? Is there a way to fix that?
